A new V12 within the Aston Martin range
With the Valen, Aston Martin introduces a new model at the pinnacle of its V12 programme. The two-seater coupé is limited to 150 units worldwide and, according to Aston Martin, is the most powerful front-engined V12 the marque has developed to date.
The Valen combines a full carbon-fibre body with a 5.2-litre V12, rear-wheel drive, and a specifically tuned chassis. The emphasis lies on weight reduction, direct response, and a clear connection between driver and machine.
850 bhp and 1,000 Nm
At the heart of the Valen lies the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, delivering 850 bhp and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a specifically calibrated eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The top speed is electronically limited to 345 km/h.
The transmission also received its own bespoke tuning. The software, partly based on insights from the Vantage GT4, ensures shorter shift times. An electronic limited-slip differential distributes torque across the rear axle, enhancing traction and agility.
Furthermore, the Valen features a new titanium exhaust system with quad tailpipes. This system saves 14.8 kilograms compared to the standard V12 configuration.
Weight reduction as the core principle
Aston Martin makes extensive use of carbon fibre for the bodywork. The application of carbon body panels alone results in a weight saving of 25 kilograms, according to the marque. The standard 21-inch magnesium wheels reduce unsprung weight by a further 6 kilograms.
Combined with the titanium exhaust and other measures, the Valen can be up to 110 kilograms lighter than Aston Martin’s regular V12 platform. The chassis has also been modified, featuring new springs, specifically calibrated adaptive dampers, and a fixed rear subframe. Carbon-ceramic brake discs are standard.
A new exterior design
The Valen’s exterior follows a distinct design within Aston Martin’s current visual language. The long bonnet and front-mid-engine proportions remain recognisable, yet are combined with sharper lines and functional aerodynamic elements.
At the front, headlights developed specifically for the Valen are used, which only become visible when switched on. Along the flanks, integrated air vents extract air from the wheel arches. At the rear, the large diffuser, the continuous light strip, and the four centrally positioned titanium exhaust pipes are particularly striking.
The shape of the rear generates downforce without the need for a conventional rear wing.
Driver-focused interior
The interior has also been specifically crafted for the Valen. New Sport Plus seats offer additional support and can be finished in various leather and Alcantara configurations. Furthermore, Aston Martin is applying 3D-printed details to the centre console and doors for the first time.
The centre console is wider and more intuitively designed, retaining physical controls. Aston Martin’s proprietary infotainment system is combined with Apple CarPlay Ultra and Android Auto. A 1,170-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 15 speakers is also included.
Limited to 150 units
Production of the Aston Martin Valen is set at 150 units worldwide. This places the model in a distinct position within the Aston Martin range, alongside models such as the Valour and Valiant.
With 850 bhp, 1,000 Nm, a carbon-fibre body, and extensive weight reduction, the Valen represents a further evolution of Aston Martin’s front-engined V12 concept. Simultaneously, the specific exterior, chassis, and interior ensure the Valen is clearly distinguished from other V12 models in the line-up.
